Pico 5 Assembly

The starter kit comes unassembled. Many people want to be able to assemble their own PicoCluster for their own fun and pleasure. For those that want a completely assembled Cube, please choose this option.

This option also requires the purchase of 5 Raspberry PI 3s so that a complete cluster can be assembled. A set of micro SD cards are recommended as well for the complete experience, but not required.

PicoCluster Wireless Mini Keyboard

Kubernetes

Kubernetes (commonly referred to as "k8s") is an open source container cluster manager originally designed by Google and donated to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. It aims to provide a "platform for automating deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers across clusters of hosts".

WIth Kubernetes, you can now orchestrate containers like the big boys, but in the comfort of your own cluster! Kubetrnetes and Docker Swarm both are container clusters, but work in different ways. PicoCluster makes it easy to learn one or both container technologies.

This option requires the purchase of a 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB application set. Kubernetes will be fully set up and configured for you.

60mm Cooling Fan Plus Alternate Back Plate for Pico 5

The fan provides air flow for additional cooling along with the heatsinks on each Raspberry PI. If you plan on running your cluster for longer periods or running processor or video intensive applications, then the having a large fan for cooling is a necessity.

The 60mm fan provides plenty of air flow, particularly over the 40mm version. The 60mm fan also runs much more quietly than the 40mm and is barely audible even 12 inches away. An alternate back plate is required for the fan mount along with an additional fastener pack.
